Paxman Pull-Through
It is essential to keep the inside of the instrument free of any matter which may restrict its internal bore. A mouthpipe pull-through should be used every few weeks. This prevents a build up of deposits there which could be blown into less easily accessible parts of the horn BUY PULL-THROUGH

The Paxman Loop
Designed by Bob Ashworth, Principal Horn of Opera North, to enable better posture and less tension when playing. This leather grip offers an alternative to other left hand supports, removing the discomfort that can be posed by a finger hook and the unnatural pressure that might be created by a 'ducks foot' fitting. The Loop can be fitted to any horn and customised to all players' needs BUY THE PAXMAN LOOP

ToneBlobs
ToneBlobs are simply very heavy valve caps. They have an internal thread at the bottom so you can remove one of your rotor caps and fit a ToneBlob in its place. They have an external thread at the top so you can put your rotor cap on top of the ToneBlob if you want to. They are made from solid high-grade brass and chromium plated. ToneBlobs are available for Paxman, Alexander, Conn (Eastlake), Conn (Elkhart & Texas) and Yamaha horns.

The Horn Stick also known as the PipStick
The Horn Stick is based on the PipStick, an invention by well-known horn player and teacher, Pip Eastop. Our Horn Stick is in addition to our other currently available supports - the loop and the ducks foot. The Horn Stick rests on the thigh, and is connected to the main tubing of the horn via a ball joint. The connection is a simple screw mechanism that allows the Horn Stick to be attached to all makes of horn. There is a height adjuster on the stick, and the mechanism can be easily removed for storage BUY THE HORN STICK The original PipStick (available via Pip Eastop - email pip@eastop.net) differs in that it is custom-built for each individual instrument and althought considerably more expensive it is much stronger.

The Crook Clip
Although an essential item for the discerning Natural Horn player there are obvious uses for all hornists. The Crook Clip is an ideal, hassle-free way to keep your crooks or mutes etc handy and ready for those annoying quick changes and keeps them off the floor. Choosing a Mouthpiece
It is crucially important in the early stages of playing to avoid choosing a mouthpiece too extreme in any of its features without good reason.

There is a bewildering array from which to choose, with variations in cup depth, rim width, internal diameter, and bore size to consider.

A wise initial step is to choose a good middle-of-the-range mouthpiece of medium depth. Such a choice would be the Paxman 3B or 4B. From either of these a constructive move could be made to alternative options.
