• BHS FESTIVAL • Paxman are taking telephone bookings on behalf of the British Horn Society for their 2010 Festival BHS Festival Details and Booking

• NEW CDs • Radek Baborak: Czech Horn Concertos Radek Baborak, a recent principal horn with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, plays concertos written by fellow Czech composers with the Prague Chamber Orchestra. Concertos featured on this CD include the Pokorny Concerto for Horn, Timpani and Strings in D Major, Rosetti Eb Horn Concerto - C 48/K III:36 and Rosetti D minor Horn Concerto - CC 38/K III:43 and finally Giovanni Punto (Jan Vaclav Stich) Concerto No.5 in F major. Johannes Hinterholzer: Mozart 4 Horn Mozart horn concertos played beautifully by the gifted Johannes Hinterholzer accompanied by the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg under the direction of Ivor Bolton. Delightful playing on the Modern Horn (Concertos 2, 3, 4 and the first movement of the reconstructed Concerto in E) and also on the Natural Horn (Concerto 1, Rondo in D Major and Rondeau in Eb).

Another top disk showcasing the leading players in Vienna, featuring music from films such as Jurassic Park, The Piano, Independence Day, Romeo and Juliet and The Magnificent Seven.

• SHEET MUSIC RETURN • Phoenix is once again publishing the Hornist's Opera and Ballet Handbook which will please the large numbers of horn players who have been asking us when it would be available.

• GIVE IT ONE • Give it One is the long awaited sequel to the hugely successful London Horn Sound CD. Many have copied the concept, but few have captured the excitement and sheer brilliance of the original CD. This new recording is a collection of big band numbers, from the slow ballad, Fat Belly Blues featuring some astonishing low horn playing from Tony Halstead, to the spectacular Trolley Song. • LOYALTY CARD • The Paxman loyalty card has been a great success since it was introduced in 1997.

Every time a customer makes a purchase and gives their card number to the sales staff 1% of the invoice value (ex-VAT) is credited to a special account. The credits in this account can be collected indefinitely and redeemed against goods and services provided by Paxman, including repairs.
